I've been gone awhile I know. It's this pregnancy. I like to sleep-A LOT-when I'm pregnant. So, that's what I've been doing. Sleeping and going to French class. I finally quit my afternoon section of French officially since I was missing it most days anyways to sleep. It took a lot of the stress off knowing it was official instead of just not showing up.
Today was our last exam for the semester so my spirits are high along with my energy! I'm around 13 weeks pregnant which means my mojo should be returning soon. Just in time for vacation!
We are spending a week in Marseille for Christmas this year. Our company has a furnished apartment there that we can 'rent' for like 15 Euro a day or something. It will give us some space (two bedroom apartment) to celebrate as a family and a new ville to explore. We're looking forward to it.
We did make it up to Nuremberg for the German Christmas Market with our friends B&S and S&J. The market was exactly what I wanted: authentic/traditional German food and Christmas decor lining the streets. They even have a yearly commemorative mug that you get when you purchase a cup of gluvine (hot mulled wine). It made a great souvenir. I also picked up some sweet little ornaments and some mini wooden Christmas trees for the kids' rooms for future Christmases. The most fun was just being there in the spirit of celebrating Christmas especially with friends. It didn't last long enough. My desire would be to return every year as a family to participate in such a great little tradition. We'll see how that turns out.
We also had our first ultrasound! Baby #2 is really in there and its heart is beating and legs and arms are moving. It's such a miracle this pregnancy thing. It blows my mind how a human can form in my body while I go about my business as usual (except with more sleep!). To me it's the most miraculous thing I participate in with God. His hand is so obvious I know it's his creation, but I get to be a part of it and for that I am so thankful.
Which leads me to reflect on the birth of Christ. If you haven't heard this song "Labor of Love" by Andrew Peterson (sung by Jill Phillips in this video. Both artists are phenomenal) I hope you will take the time now. It really is a moving and profound picture of what we are celebrating on Christmas. What a miracle.
Merry Christmas.
well you know we'd love to see you again next year! =)
