The kitchen print is by Michael Miller and the Eiffel Tower is Hoodie Collection. If you remember (or scroll down) I had picked up some of the Eiffel Tower print before, but had only a 1/2 meter. This time I got 2 meters and hope to make a gift for my BFF.
The top pieces of fabric are from a 'Coupon' store which I take to mean 'already cut'. The whole store had rows of fabric cut in 3 meter pieces. The good news is this made it cheap, only 10 Euro for three meters! The designer fabric I bought was between 11 and 14 Euro a meter (OUCH!). For the U.S. reader, that's approximately $16-20 a meter and a meter is slightly smaller than a yard. Yeah.
I also picked up 10, count 'em, 10 meters of interfacing. This stuff goes between fabrics to give a project stiffness. If you want your tote to stay standing up when you put it down, you put interfacing in it. I got so much because I will use a lot of it and didn't want to be going back and forth for it. And it was only about 1.70 Euro a meter.
I had a list of Christmas gifts I plan on making which dictated my purchases. It was a nice trip but it is so exhausting going into Paris and going shop to shop trying to find exactly what you want and thinking about price and meters and Euros! I got online at my new favorite place and think for specific things I might start buying my fabric online. It's cheaper! Ugh. I hate that.
So there you have it. My next post will also be about sewing projects. Are you excited?!??
so i just lost my long answer/comment. bah. i love the 10 Euro deal, am horrified in general at fabric prices, and plan on buying TONS of whatever I see and like in the US over the holidays. Meanwhile I'm gonna have to start buying fabric online b/c I don't have enough of the right kinds to do all my Christmas projects which is super annoying. sigh. i WILL conquer this!! =)
